February 1, 2013 at the cultural center "Dom Ozerov" exhibition at the Union of Russian Artists "Walking the Streets of Moscow", dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the People's Artist of Russia MG Abakumov.

The exhibition features over fifty works: quiet Moscow streets and boulevards, bustling stations and new areas, parks and historical sites. The exhibitors include National Artist of Russia, NE Zaitsev, VS Mironov, Honored Artists of Russia SI Smirnov, DA Shmarin and others.

It is symbolic that the exhibition will be presented and the work of the Michael Abakumov, who actually was behind the revival of the Union of Russian Artists.

The exhibition is timed to Abakumovskim reading that for the third time held in Kolomna. Title of the exhibition is not accidental, since almost all union members are associated with the capital studies or living, and in the work of each of them, Moscow is a special place. Creative way the Mikhail Abakumov also connected with the capital, where he taught for a long time.


In 2008 in Moscow, a group of Russian artists was revived legendary Union of Russian Artists (SRS). The same name existed in Russia in 1903-1923 years. and united artists such as Vasnetsov, Vrubel, Konstantin Korovin, Mikhail Nesterov, V. Surikov and others.

Like a hundred years ago, the revival of the unions represent the best forces of the Russian realistic painting from famous during the Soviet era academics brothers A. and S. Tkachev to recent graduates of the Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture Glazunov.
